Teen dramas are the most popular among the masses including us adults who loves to watch these dramas to reminisce those high school days. Days about stepping into the world of teen age fighting those wild hormones in our bodies that eventually forms the basis of teen dramas. Drama, friendship, love, relationships, followed with betrayal and heartbreaks are all endured in our teen days. So get ready to take jump back in time and remember the good old/worst days of lives. Luckily many of the shows I have mentioned are available on Netflix, so you can enjoy the shows without ever leaving the comfort of your couch. Grab popcorn and dive in!

The most popular teen drama about high school that kept the world coming back again and again. If you are a huge fan of watching how the rich and privileged lives, this show is for you. The series is based on the book series of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar. The show centers around the lives of rich teenagers, Blair, Serena, Chuck, Nate and Dan attending a private school in New York City. So, where there is rich people obviously there will be more drama. Drama over boyfriends, status, keeping up to their parents wishes. With a mysterious and sharp blogger who is ruthless when it comes to revealing secrets of the the elites of Upper East Side, this show will soon be your binge worthy and guilty pleasure show. The show first premiered on September 2007 and ended on December 2012 with six seasons.

#9. The Vampire Dairies (2009-17)

This popular vampire teen drama is based on the popular book by the same name by L. J. Smith and is about three teenagers, not your normal teenagers, beautiful, Elena a mortal being, and two hot brothers Stefan and Damon, both vampires and pursue the beautiful Elena. Stefan is kind, humble and his brother equally evil and cold. Stefan meets Elena and fall in love with each other instantly. But his evil brother Damon falls in love with Elena too as she resembles his old love, Katherine. Thus starting the greatest love triangle of the era. Elena’s world is turned upside down when she discovers the secret of the two brothers. The show has eight seasons that ran from September 2009 to March 2017.

Alison is the most popular in school and all her other friends shares their deepest secrets with Alison. During a party, Alison disappears which results in the break up of the group. But strangely after the disappearance of Alison, the girls are united again when a mysterious person, going by the name ‘A’ threatens to reveal all their secrets. The girls must find this mysterious person before their secrets destroys them one by one. The show has 7 seasons and first premiered on June 2010 and ending on June 2017.

if you are a huge fan of Nancy Drew books, this show is for you. The series shows the life of a 16-year-old popular teenage girl turned spy who investigates the murder of her best friend. Veronica who once enjoyed the spotlight with her cool friends and boyfriend, after a series of unfortunate events, where her best friend is murdered, Veronica shut herself from the world, and began helping her father, a private investigator and investigates the lives of the people in her town while also steering through High school. Don’t forget the sarcasm in Veronica and her brilliant comebacks. In each season Veronica is seen solving a mystery which she finishes at the season finale, but in the third season Veronica is seen solving many small mystery arcs. The show has three seasons and first premiered on September 2004 and ended on May 2007.

This mystery teen drama is based on the 2007 novel of the same novel by Jay Asher and tells the story of a teenage boy, Clay investigating the suicide of a newcomer Hannah Baker. The suicide shocked the school and mostly affected Clay as he and a crush on Katherine. Soon Clay receives a mysterious box of recordings that begins revealing the mystery behind her tragic choice. Clay is horrified to learn that he is among the 13 reasons why Hannah took her life. The show has one season consisting of 13 episodes first releasing on March, 2017. There is news of a second season coming soon which makes sure that the mystery behind Hannah’s Baker suicide is still yet to uncover.

Misfits is a British sci fi/comedy show that centers around five juvenile offenders who meet each other at a community service. During a freak accident, they are struck by a lighting and suddenly their lives changes as they gain unique superpowers. With superpowers comes great responsibilities as the teenagers now must figure out how to handle their superpowers. The show has 5 seasons which first premiered on November 2009 and ended on December 2013.

#4. Freaks and Geeks (1999-2001)

Cast: James Franco, Seth Rogan, Linda Cardellini

This highly acclaimed comedy series shows the lives of two groups, the uber cool slackers and the geeks navigating through high school at McKinley High in 1980s. The show centers around Lindsay and her attempts to fit in with the dope smoking freaks who have no future and her brother Sam and his geek friends who just wants to survive high school. The show first premiered on September 1999 but after 18 episodes the show was canceled due to low viewership (such a shame), but the three last show aired on Fox Family Channel after much persuasion from the fan club of the show.

#3. The 100 (2014- )

Genre: Sci-fi/Post-apocalyptic

This post-apocalyptic sci-fi show is based on the 2013 book of the same name by Jason Rothenberg follows a group of survivors who are sent back to Earth after living in space for almost 100 years. Earth is inhabitable with high humanity wiped out from a nuclear war and the survivors live in a space habitat known as ‘TheArk‘. After 97 years, 100 juvenile prisoners are chosen to go back to Earth to test if the planet is now habitable as the Ark is dying due to scarcity of supplies. The group becomes the first 100 to set foot back on Earth, but soon has to adapt themselves to the environment as they are not the only ones on the planet. The show premiered first on March 2014 and is still running with 5 seasons till date.

Welcome to the most popular and best sci fi series ever created in our generation, Stranger Things. If you haven’t watch this show, I insist you should definitely and I promise you will not be disappointed. The show has everything, from science stuffs mixed with intriguing mysteries. The show centers around a small peaceful town, where the disappearance of a 12-year-old boy gives its way to investigation led by his mother and his friends that uncovers a trail of mysteries that involves secret government experiments, terrifying creatures and a strange little girl who is on run from the ‘bad men’. The show gain critical acclaim its release and first premiered on July 2016. The show has two seasons till date and news are in as the third season will be released soon.

Genre: Mystery/Crime-thriller/Documentary

Cast: Tyler Alvatrez, Griffin Gluck, Jimmy Tatro

American Vandal, is about a true crime documentary that looks deeper into the investigation of the high school vandalism that leaves the high school stunned. The vandalism is seen in the faculty members cars as obscene pictures drawn in the windows. When a innocent student is expelled for the crime, he finds a friend in a filmmaker who begins his investigation and bring justice to the real culprits. The show first premiered on September 2017 and has one season with 8 episodes.
